Applicant Eligibility
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a US citizen or lawful resident (Individuals are considered lawful residents can have any of the legal statuses defined by the US Department of Homeland Security such as Permanent or Conditional Resident (aka Green Gard), Auorizations to Stay, Asylum, Visas)
- Own or intend to establish a for-profit business or non-profit childcare in Brightpoint’s services area
- Have not filed bankruptcy in the previous 12 months
- Be current on any child support obligations
- Considered in good standing with all State and Federal agencies
- Not be convicted of crimes such as fraud, theft, embezzlement, bribery, forgery, and other similar financial or fraud crimes
- Have no criminal or civil cases currently before a court
- Not currently on probation or parole, or serving a court order sentence
Business Eligibility
A business is not eligible for our loan program if they are any of the following:
- Private club or business that limits membership
- Government-owned entity
- Business principally engaged in the promotion, teaching, or indoctrination of any religion or specific set of beliefs
- Business that is principally adult or sexual in nature
- Lobbying or Political organizations
- Liquor or alcohol stores
- T0bacco or related stores
- Sole Proprietor
- Non-profits other than Childcare/daycare
Businesses must also:
- Have an EIN from the IRS
- Be registered with the Indiana Secretary of State
- Hold any required licenses or certifications
Application and Loan Fees
- Application fee is $75.00
- Origination fees range from 1-3% of the loan
